Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Job Summary:

Based at Sensient Colors, King’s Lynn, the Days-Based Multi-Skilled Engineer will be responsible for undertaking and supporting various Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance duties around site as part of their daily maintenance activities. They will facilitate the manufacture of high-quality products by ensuring the reliability of the plant, equipment, and facilities. The Multi-Skilled Engineer will be required to be a “Team Player” supporting other members of the team.

This role includes the execution of daily maintenance tasks, planning works, ensuring the correct parts are on hand as well as supporting and developing the site’s performance and efficiency.

What you’ll do:

Electrical:

1. Undertake electrical PPM’s as required to ensure equipment reliability.
2. Fault Finding, installations, modifications.
3. Ability to read, understand and modify electrical drawings.
4. Knowledge of PLC’s / instrumentation, input / outputs and able to make modifications.

Mechanical:

1. Undertake mechanical PPM’s as required to ensure equipment reliability.
2. To attend to faults and breakdowns as required ensuring minimal impact on operations.
3. TIG, MIG, Stick Welding/pipe fitting (Desirable).

Other duties:

1. To provide out of hours “call out” facility on a Rota basis with other team members.
2. At all times to behave in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with Health and Safety Legislation, and assist in ensuring all contractors are complying with H&S standards.
3. Support the Maintenance Supervisor and Engineering Manager in planning works, small projects and ensure safe working practices are adopted.
4. To be committed, both at work and during training, and to actively take part in and contribute to the review process.
5. On call 1 week in 4 for 4 evenings, Monday to Thursday.

What you’ll bring:

1. Mechanical / Electrical Apprenticeship.
2. HNC / HND / City and Guilds qualifications in relevant subjects.
3. BS 7671 – 18th edition.
4. Time served experience with a minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing environment.
5. Experience with working with PLC’s.
6. Multi Skilled Technician – Mechanical/Electrical.
7. Motivated to learning and development.
8. Good written and oral communication skills.
9. Experience of problem solving and decision making skills.
10. Good knowledge and understanding of CMMS Systems.
