Job summary

Unipart Technologies Group in Coventry is seeking a proactive Maintenance Technician to join a shift-based support team on a high-volume manufacturing scale-up. You will handle breakdowns, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure equipment availability across production lines.

You should be a multi-skilled technician with hands-on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repair experience, plus basic PLC knowledge.

Qualifications

• Vocational qualification in mechanical/electrical field or equivalent.
• Experience as Maintenance Technician in fast-paced manufacturing/assembly.
• Ability to trace electrical faults and perform mechanical repairs.

Responsibilities

• First-Line Breakdown Response: respond to breakdowns and fault-find to minimise downtime.
• Preventative Maintenance (PPM): perform daily/weekly/monthly routines and TPM checks.
• Fault Finding and Repair: electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs.
• PLC and Control Diagnostics: assist with basic PLC, sensor, and robotics fault diagnosis.
• Equipment Safety and LOTO: follow SHE procedures and risk assessments.
• Operational Shift Support: communicate faults and repair status with operators and engineers.
• Continuous Improvement: support 5S and The Unipart Way problem-solving routines.
• Maintenance Logs: log breakdowns, spares usage, and work orders in CMMS.
