Job summary

The Sterling Choice is seeking a Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer to join a fast-paced FMCG site in the UK. You will diagnose faults across mechanical, electrical and PLC systems, perform planned, preventative and reactive maintenance, and support installs and upgrades on production lines.

We’re looking for hands-on engineers with apprenticeship routes or equivalent, who can work 4 on/4 off days and nights, and who focus on root-cause fixes and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Solid experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer in food manufacturing or FMCG.
• Apprenticeship or City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Electro-Mechanical.
• Proficient in PLC fault finding and mechanical/electrical maintenance.
• Ability to diagnose root causes and implement lasting fixes.
• Capable of working solo or in a team while maintaining safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Keep the plant running with planned, preventive and reactive maintenance.
• Fault find on PLCs, motors and control panels.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and automation faults.
• Support installs, refurbishments and upgrades of equipment.
• Drive continuous improvement beyond quick fixes.
• Maintain accurate records and stock levels.
