Qualifications

  • Up-to-date knowledge of BS7671 wiring regulations.

  • Deliver reactive and planned electrical maintenance to minimise downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and repair faults across motors, drives, PLCs, control systems, and sensors.
  • Maintain compliance with LOTO procedures and electrical safety standards.

Job description


Our client is one of the world's largest leading manufacturers, they have a presence in all the leading supermarkets in the UK and are expanding.

Job Role & Key Responsibilities:


You will play a vital role in maintaining and optimising the electrical reliability of the equipment and infrastructure, whilst contributing to efficiency, compliance and safety across the site.


  • Deliver reactive and planned electrical maintenance to minimise downtime

  • Troubleshoot and repair faults across motors, drives, PLCs, control systems, and sensors

  • Ensure optimal performance of utilities and infrastructure to support energy efficiency goals

  • Participate in continuous improvement activities such as 5S, Kaizen, and Lean practices

  • Maintain compliance with LOTO procedures, BS7671, and electrical safety standards

  • Support production teams by promptly resolving equipment issues

  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to complete cross-functional projects

  • Accurately record maintenance activities and condition-based monitoring (CBM) data in CMMS
The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment

  • Recognised Electrical Engineering qualifications (e.g.NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds 2381/2377, HNC/HND or equivalent)

  • Up-to-date knowledge of BS7671 wiring regulations

  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostics skills with electrical systems and process equipment

  • Familiarity with CMMS systems and accurate maintenance record keeping

  • Understanding of utilities systems and site infrastructure

  • A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a strong focus on safety and compliance
Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley) and control systems

  • Electrical safety training and additional certifications

  • Background experience in a food, beverage, or FMCG manufacturing environment
