Lineage Logistics is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to perform reactive and preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment, including refrigeration and cold storage systems. The role follows a 4 on 4 off night shift (18:00-06:00) with a competitive salary.

You will diagnose faults, carry out planned maintenance, monitor temperature thresholds, and support the wider team to keep operations running smoothly in a cold environment with full PPE provided.

Formación

• Recognised electrical engineering qualification (NVQ/City & Guilds/ONC-HNC or equivalent).
• Hands-on maintenance experience in mechanical and electrical systems, ideally with refrigeration exposure.
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving abilities across plant equipment.

Responsabilidades

• Diagnose and resolve equipment failures across mechanical, electrical, and cold store systems such as cranes, conveyors and plant utilities.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance according to PPM programs to reduce downtime and extend asset life.
• Monitor coldstore systems and ensure refrigeration routines stay within temperature thresholds; report deviations to leadership.
• Respond to breakdowns to improve reliability and reduce downtime of electrical and mechanical plant.
• Collaborate with the wider team to keep the facility moving and safe.
• Work in cold environments (around -18°C) with full PPE provided; occasional ladder work at height.

We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to help provide reactive and preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.

Shift Available: 4 on 4 off nights 18:00-06:00

The role:

• Diagnose and Resolve Equipment Failures: Quickly respond to faults across mechanical, electrical, and - including cranes, conveyors, refrigeration, and plant utilities, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable fixes.




• Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks in line with PPM programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.




• Monitor and Maintain Coldstore Systems: Regularly inspect and ensure the Coldstore plant is operating within temperature thresholds. Support the refrigeration servicing schedules and report any deviations or concerns to leadership promptly.




• Resolve breakdowns, reduce downtime, and improve reliability of electrical and mechanical equipment.




• Support the wider team in working together to solve problems to keep our facility moving.




• You will do some of this work in a cold environment - approximately minus 18 Celsius - just like working in the freezer; but we provide full PPE to keep you warm.




• At times work on ladders at height.

Who we’re looking for:

• A recognised qualification in Electrical Engineering (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, ONC/HNC or equivalent). Mechanical Engineering knowledge also beneficial




• Proven hands-on experience in a maintenance role, ideally with refrigeration experience and mobile racking




• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills across mechanical and electrical systems




• Familiarity with food safety standards, health & safety legislation, and maintenance best practices




• Willingness to learn and improve your skills.




• Effective communicator in English with a proactive and adaptable approach
