Job description

Our client is a global company and one of the largest producers and distributors of bakery ingredients in the world.

Job Role & Key Responsibilities

To ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of site equipment through planned and reactive maintenance.Support continuous improvement, food safety, and compliance across all engineering functions.

• 
  Deliver planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety and food standards
• 
  Conduct diagnostics and repairs across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems
• 
  Accurately record all maintenance activities in CMMS
• 
  Perform dynamic risk assessments and review contractor RAMS when issuing permits
• 
  Monitor equipment performance, aiming to reduce downtime and increase reliability
• 
  Support site production, contribute to CI initiatives, and maintain a clean, safe engineering area
• 
  Actively promote safety culture (SORs, Food Safety Observations, etc.)

The ideal candidate will have

• 
  Time-served Engineering Apprenticeship (Mechanical or Electrical) - Level 3
• 
  Experience in a multiskilled maintenance role within food or FMCG manufacturing
• 
  Knowledge of CMMS and preventative/predictive maintenance practices
• 
  Strong fault-finding ability across mechanical and electrical systems
• 
  Familiarity with hygienic equipment and food-safe maintenance procedures
• 
  Good communication and collaboration skills
• 
  Understanding of safety, food compliance, and engineering KPIs

Desirable Skills

• 
  HNC/HND in Engineering
• 
  17th/18th Edition Electrical Certification
• 
  IOSH or NEBOSH safety qualifications
• 
  CHP/ETP experience
