Job summary

ProARecruitment is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a global manufacturing business based in Swindon. You will support production reliability through planned maintenance, rapid breakdown response and general facilities upkeep.The role requires solid mechanical and electrical skills, ability to read electrical drawings and fault-find 3‑phase systems, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics and pneumatics, plus basic welding. Rotating AM/PM shifts with a generous benefits package.

Qualifications

• Ability to read electrical drawings and fault-find 3-phase systems, motors/drives, control circuits, and electronic components.
• Strong mechanical skills: pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics/pneumatics.
• Confident with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and basic machining/welding.
• Positive communicator and proactive team player.
• Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Complete PPMs, corrective work, and urgent repairs on production machinery.
• Diagnose faults across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Support safe, efficient running of manufacturing lines.
• Carry out basic building/facilities maintenance.
• Communicate daily with the Engineering Supervisor and work closely with production teams.
• Coordinate external contractors and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Work with suppliers and fabricators to source parts and support small design/modification tasks.
