Job description

Job Title: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)
Location: Skelmersdale
Salary: £19.50 + 22% shift rate per hour (£23.79p/h)
Core Hours: Monday - Thursday 6am-2pm/2pm-10pm & 6-12pm/11am-4:35pm Fridays
Contract Type: Temporary - minimum of 3-6 months

We are currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) for our client, a global company with operations in over 70 countries and sales in over 200 countries, operating in the fields of industry, worker safety, and consumer goods.

This role is offered on a temporary contract basis (minimum 3-6 months).

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain automated machinery, belts, motors, pneumatics, and PLCs, including ABB Robots.
  • Perform PLC fault finding and troubleshooting.
  • Conduct regular Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPMs).
  • Inspect and test machinery regularly.
  • Log defaults and issues onto the company systems.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Time-served or NVQ level trained in electrical installation/maintenance.
  • Proven PLC fault finding skills.
  • Ability to work independently with initiative.
  • Good communication skills, able to explain complex technical scenarios to non-technical colleagues.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
