Job description

Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)

Location: Market Deeping, Lincs / near Peterborough

Salary: £42k to £44k plus overtime

Working Days: Monday to Friday

Shift Hours: 6am to 2pm and 2pm to 10pm

We are seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer with mechanical skills (70/30 split). You will be responsible for PPM and repairs to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the manufacturing plant. This role involves overseeing all maintenance activities, including preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, and equipment installations, while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies. The manager will also be involved in developing and implementing maintenance strategies, managing budgets, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Part of the Maintenance Team: Ensure the team has the necessary skills and resources to perform their duties effectively.
  2. Developing and Implementing Maintenance Strategies: Create and execute preventative maintenance programs, set maintenance schedules, and optimize equipment performance to minimize downtime.
  3. Ensuring Compliance: Enforce safety regulations, company policies, and relevant industry standards within the maintenance department.
  4. Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and other equipment malfunctions, coordinating with other departments as needed.
  5. Contractor Management: Oversee contractors working on site, ensuring adherence to safety and company standards.
  6. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes, increase efficiency, and reduce costs.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  2. Leadership and Management: Proven experience in leading and managing a team, with excellent communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
  3. Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues, analyze data, and implement effective solutions.
