Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform planned preventative maintenance and respond to breakdowns.
  • Support and monitor automation and mechanical systems.
  • Liaise with external contractors and manage health & safety.

Overview

Join a Growing Team in a Leading International Logistics Operation. Bring your technical expertise and collaborative mindset to a hands-on role at the heart of a major international logistics business, operating high-tech cold storage and distribution facilities across the UK and Europe. As a Maintenance Engineer at our Braintree site, you\'ll play a vital role in supporting automation systems and general site infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance through a mix of preventative and reactive maintenance.

Responsibilities
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and fast response to breakdowns
  • PLC fault finding and working with sensors, metal detectors, conveyors, belts, motors, bearings
  • Supporting site automation and mechanical handling systems
  • Monitoring and reporting through the site CMMS system
  • Liaising with and overseeing external contractors
  • Adhering to and enforcing Permit to Work and health & safety protocols
  • Contributing to team discussions and decision-making on efficiency improvements
What You\'ll Need
  • Time-served apprenticeship and recognised electrical qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, etc.)
  • Experience working in automated or distribution/warehouse environments preferred
  • Competence in: PLC fault finding
  • Conveyors, belts, and drive systems
  • Sensors and metal detectors
  • Hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, gearboxes, and bearings
  • Basic mechanical skills (fitting, fault finding)
  • Comfortable using IT systems and CMMS platforms
  • Good spoken and written English
  • Desirable: knowledge of refrigeration systems, food hygiene, and H&S practices
