Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer - Ballymena - NO Nights OR Weekends - Highly Competitive Hourly Rates

Your New Company

Your New Role

Working as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer you will report to the Maintenance Manager. Your core duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  1. Providing engineering resource in carrying out and developing planned preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance, repairs, refurbishment, installation, improvements, and modification or upgrade to plant and services to minimise downtime and maintain the equipment in the best possible condition to attain world class performance from all assets.
  2. Proactively developing a continuous improvement culture in support of all machinery and equipment to effectively reduce engineering downtime, thereby maintaining plant availability, efficiency, productivity and product quality at all times.
  3. Developing high Engineering, Quality, Safety and Hygienic standards within Engineering.
  4. Ensuring all engineering work is carried out in an efficient and effective manner, in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice, Health and Safety Legislation and current Company Standards.
  5. Fault diagnosis and breakdown repairs of plant, machinery and site services – both trades.
  6. Planned maintenance (PM), modifications, installations and upgrades to plant machinery and site services.
  7. Utilising the CMMS fully and assisting in its development to achieve ‘World Class’ asset performance.
  8. Undertaking statutory checks as directed by the management team.
  9. Dealing directly with suppliers on machine or plant issues.
  10. Proactive involvement in Project work, including the installation and commissioning of machines and equipment within authorised skill level.
  11. Upkeep and alteration of electrical and mechanical drawings as needed.
  12. Working with, or leading, multi-functional teams on CI initiatives using agreed techniques to improve production processes and plant design to minimise downtime and improve safety and quality performance.
  13. Working as part of a team with operations to improve site production processes and plant design to minimise downtime and improve safety and quality.
  14. Undertaking training and upskilling programs as directed by business needs and keeping abreast of technological advancements.

What You'll Need To Succeed

In order to be considered for this role you will need to have:

  1. Time served electrical apprenticeship.
  2. Educated to HND level (desirable).
  3. A minimum of 5 years maintenance experience within a manufacturing setting.
  4. Practical experience gained within engineering function.
  5. Health and Safety knowledge directly relating to the Engineering function.
  6. Working knowledge of CMMS.
  7. Wide range of knowledge of functional engineering disciplines.
  8. Ability to solve problems using a logical thought process and implement solutions to prevent reoccurrences.
  9. Ability to work consistently to high standards and prioritise tasks accordingly to workload.
  10. The ability to operate under pressure in a fast moving technical environment.
  11. Sound decision making skills.
  12. Good communication skills both verbal and written.
  13. The ability to work as part of a multi-faceted team or independently as the situation demands.
  14. PC literate with the ability to use Microsoft Office to produce various reports.
  15. Must be able to demonstrate a flexible skill set fully exploiting cross or multi-skill elements of training without trade demarcation.
  16. To be fully conversant and compliant with site Permit to Work and Isolation & Lock Off procedures.
  17. Maintenance Techniques and Philosophies / Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques.

What You'll Get In Return

Highly competitive Hourly Rates + enhanced OT rates. Working on a rotating shift pattern of 05:00 - 13:30 and 12:00 - 20:30. A share scheme is also available amongst other staff benefits.
