Job summary

DS Smith Packaging site in Devizes is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to work closely with engineering colleagues, operations, OEMs and vendors to improve asset reliability and plant performance.

The role is hands-on and fast-paced, requiring preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs and adherence to health and safety, quality and cost policies; shifts are 4 on 4 off (2 x 12h day, 2 x 12h night), averaging 40.5 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified multi-skilled maintenance technician.
• Experience with preventive/predictive maintenance (PPM).
• Familiar with 5S/Lean and root cause problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Ensure maintenance work meets quality standards and targets.
• Follow procedures to control maintenance costs and plant performance.
• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance and report findings.
• Identify and source parts through engineering stores.
• Carry out dynamic risk assessments on tasks.
• Control stocks of materials and consumables.
• Be familiar with stop devices and safety procedures.
• Promote team responsibility to maintain clean, safe areas.
