What We Are Looking For
We are seeking experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineers to join our growing Engineering team. This individual will provide electrical and instrumentation repair and maintenance services, operating the Electrical Generation Plant, Peaking Generators, Steam Raising Plant, and Water Treatment Plant efficiently and safely. Responsibilities include monitoring plant conditions and minimizing operating costs.
Main Responsibilities
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
- Running the day-to-day operations of Boilers, Gas Turbines (CHP plants), and Reverse Osmosis skids.
- Monitoring boiler and water treatment plant and adjusting settings as conditions require.
- Monitoring the operation of process gas combustion and adjusting fuel mixes to meet steam requirements and process gas availability. Planning with Production regarding steam and electricity needs.
- Liaising with Engineering and Production departments regarding breakdowns and routine maintenance.
- Performing planned, predictive, and reactive electrical maintenance to ensure efficient production.
- Fault finding, testing, calibration, installation, and commissioning of process instrumentation.
- Isolating electrical plant to comply with permit-to-work procedures.
- Diagnosing faults and implementing rectification solutions.
- Electrical installation and commissioning of machinery and equipment.
- Performing all work safely, following site safety procedures and trade practices.
- HV switching and operations (training provided).
Skills And Knowledge
- Recognized electrical/C&I engineering apprenticeship, ideally in a heavy process industry.
- Higher National Certificate (HNC) in electrical/automation discipline or equivalent experience.
- Proven competency in electrical safety, isolation procedures, and safe panel entry.
- Understanding of electrical installation schematics and requirements.
- Electrical and instrumentation fault diagnosis and repair skills.
- Experience in instrumentation maintenance.
- HV switching and operations experience or willingness to learn (training provided).
- Experience with CHP plant operations or willingness to learn (training provided).
- Ability to work independently and organize team work as needed.
- Hands-on approach with a focus on completing tasks.
- Ability to prioritize workload and adapt to changing needs.
