Job Description

Our Network Engineering Manager is seeking an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (internally known as Network Sortation Engineer) to strengthen our team and ensure outstanding service across our UK depots.

This role involves covering multiple depots in the North East, maintaining equipment, and performing repairs swiftly to uphold our world-class service standards. Responsibilities include maintenance and breakdown repairs on sortation equipment from both electrical and mechanical perspectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Responding to breakdowns with extensive fault finding (electrical and mechanical)
• Completing ad hoc repair requests on sortation equipment
• Performing scheduled and reactive maintenance on sortation systems
• Carrying out servicing tasks, including documentation and reporting
• Utilizing SCADA systems for fault diagnosis
• Liaising with Security, Operations, and IT departments regarding maintenance work
• Following health & safety policies, including COSHH

Qualifications

Applicants should have completed a recognized engineering or maintenance apprenticeship, or hold an appropriate engineering qualification (HND/HNC) with an electrical bias. The role requires autonomous work capability and depot cluster management. Additional requirements include:

• Experience in a fast-paced automated environment with electrical and mechanical repair skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
• Resilience, self-motivation, and flexibility
• Teamwork and a proactive attitude

• A full UK driving license for depot travel
