Job summary

Müller Yogurt & Desserts in Telford seeks a Unit Maintenance Technician (Multi-Skilled Engineer) to strengthen the engineering team at our state-of-the-art site. You will perform reactive and planned maintenance in a fast-paced, highly automated environment, ensuring safety and high equipment reliability.

Key duties include diagnosing electrical/mechanical faults, conducting PPMs via CMMS, and driving improvements to reduce downtime and boost OEE across filling and process lines.

Qualifications

• Time-served engineering apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Experience in multi-skilled maintenance environments.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Experience maintaining machinery in manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment and automated lines.
• Experience with preventative maintenance systems/PPM.
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Ability to work in fast-paced operational settings.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience in food/dairy/FMCG industries.

Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive maintenance to minimise downtime and support production.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance through CMMS.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical and automation faults.
• Maintain pumps, valves, filling equipment and production machinery.
• Ensure equipment safety and operability before returning to service.
• Identify root causes and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability.
• Collaborate with Production and Operations to meet site targets.
• Maintain engineering standards for safety, quality and OEE.

Hours / Shift: 4 on 4 off rotating days and nights, 7am - 7pm / 7pm - 7am (42 hours on average)

We'relooking for a highly skilledUnit Maintenance Technicianto join our Engineering team in Telford. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer to work within a fast-paced, highly automated manufacturing environment, supporting production through both planned and reactive maintenance activities.

You'llplay a key role in maximising equipment reliability, reducing downtime, driving continuousimprovementand ensuring our manufacturing assetsoperatesafely and efficiently.

What you'll be doing

• Carrying out reactive maintenance to minimise downtime and support production performance
• Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities through our CMMS maintenance system
• Diagnosing and resolving electrical, mechanical and automation faults
• Maintaining pumps, valves, filling equipment, processsystemsand fast-moving production machinery
• Ensuring all equipment is safe and fully operational before returning it to service
• Identifyingroot causes of equipment failures and implementing permanent corrective actions
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and efficiency
• Working collaboratively with Production and Operational teams to achieve site performance targets
• Maintaining engineering standards that support safety,qualityand OEE performance

What we’re looking for

• Time-served engineering apprenticeship, HNC or equivalent engineering qualification
• Experience working within a multi-skilled maintenance environment
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
• Experiencemaintainingmachinery within manufacturing, production,processor FMCG environments
• Knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment and automated production lines
• Experience of preventative maintenance systems and planned maintenance activities
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
• Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced operational environment
• Excellent communication and team-working skills
• Food, dairy,beverageor FMCG manufacturing experience
• Knowledge of filling and process technology
• Experience using CMMS maintenance systems
• Continuous improvement experience
