Job summary

EMR Group is seeking a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer (60/40) to join our depot maintenance team. You will diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems on heavy processing equipment, ensuring safe, reliable operation and maximizing plant uptime.

Working with conveyors, motors, gearboxes and hydraulics, you’ll perform planned maintenance, implement improvements, and support weekend work as required.

Qualifications

• Time served apprenticeship with C&G NVQ 3 Diploma in Engineering maintenance or equivalent.
• Good Mechanical and Electrical fault-finding skills within heavy industry/manufacturing (60/40).
• Experience working on heavy machinery, plant equipment, or processing systems.
• Basic PLC fault-finding (desirable but not essential).
• Experience or certification within Welding and fabrication.
• Experience of RCA techniques.
• Be able to work some weekends to aid business requirements.

• Maintain and repair equipment including conveyors, shredders, motors, bearings, power transmissions, pumps and gearboxes.
• Maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ensure all work is completed safely in line with company procedures and health & safety standards.

About the Role

This is a hands‑on role where you’ll play a key part in ensuring our plant and processing equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently. Working on both Mechanical and electrical systems, you’ll support continuous improvement, minimise downtime, and contribute to the overall performance of the site. You’ll also benefit from ongoing training and development to expand your technical skillset and career progression.
