The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a practically minded, reliable engineer who enjoys a varied workload and the autonomy to manage their own time. Ideal for someone looking to scale back from full-time work while staying engaged in a dynamic, technical environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on plant and machinery
  • Maintain and fault-find equipment such as:
  • Shot blasting machines
  • Air compressors
  • Conveyor systems
  • Pressure systems
  • Industrial steam boilers (desirable)
  • Read and interpret engineering schematics
  • Respond to occasional daytime callouts (flexibly arranged)
  • Support operational uptime and equipment efficiency
About You

We're looking for someone with:

  • Proven experience in maintenance engineering (mechanical bias with electrical skills)
  • Knowledge of PLC systems (basic fault-finding, not programming)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Welding/fabrication experience (advantageous, not essential)
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • A proactive, dependable attitude
  • Bonus: Previous supervisory experience or looking to transition into a senior, mentoring role.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Completed engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and familiarity with electrical systems
  • Understanding of safety standards related to pressure systems, boilers, and industrial machinery
