Job summary

The role requires a strong electrical and/or mechanical background, experience in manufacturing environments, and a proactive approach to problem solving within a supportive engineering team.

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Location: Warrington

Salary: Circa £40,000 per annum

Shift Pattern: Rotating weekly — 6:00am-2:00pm / 2:00pm-10:00pm

Job Type: Permanent

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy and established operation in Warrington.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on engineer with a strong electrical and/or mechanical background to join a stable team, where you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, availability and performance of site machinery and equipment.

The Role

Working as part of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for carrying out both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the site.

You will diagnose faults, carry out repairs and improvements, and work proactively to minimise equipment downtime and maintain a safe and efficient working environment.

The role operates on a weekly rotating shift pattern of 6:00am-6:00pm and 2:00pm-10:00pm.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on a range of machinery and equipment


• Diagnose and rectify electrical and mechanical faults


• Respond promptly to breakdowns and minimise production downtime


• Complete routine inspections and preventative maintenance activities


• Install, modify and improve machinery and equipment where required


• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and efficiency


• Accurately record maintenance activities and faults


• Work closely with production and other departments to resolve issues effectively


• Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures


• Support continuous improvement and engineering projects across the site

About You

We are looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a good balance of electrical and mechanical engineering skills.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a multi-skilled maintenance engineering role


• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilities


• Experience working within a manufacturing, production or industrial environment


• A recognised engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent)


• A proactive, practical approach to problem solving


• The ability to work independently as well as part of a wider engineering team


• Good communication and organisational skills


• A strong commitment to health and safety
