CV Technical LTD in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, is seeking a Shift Engineer to join a busy food manufacturing site. The role involves planned maintenance, rapid fault finding, and continuous improvement to maximise plant reliability and output.

The position offers a rotating 4 on/4 off shift (days and nights), with safety and teamwork at the core of daily activities. Salary up to £49,120 per annum plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Time-served engineering apprenticeship or recognised engineering qualification.
• Experience working within a manufacturing, food, FMCG, packaging, or process environment.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Electrical and/or mechanical maintenance experience.
• Ability to work effectively within a rotating days and nights shift pattern.
• A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities across production equipment.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and minimise downtime through effective fault finding and repair.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults on a range of manufacturing machinery.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
• Ensure all engineering activities are completed safely and in line with company procedures.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Work collaboratively with production teams to maximise plant efficiency.
