Overview

First Military Recruitment is working with a worldwide organisation, leading in the print industry, looking for a Multiskilled Engineer to join their expanding team. The role involves maintaining efficiency in all factory areas, including reactive and planned maintenance of industrial manufacturing machinery, as well as participating in projects and continuous improvements.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Reactive maintenance on automated production machinery
  • Pre-planned Maintenance (PPM) – input to and execute preventive routines
  • Mechanical fault finding
  • Fault finding and repair on hydraulic or pneumatic systems
  • Small installation projects
  • Continuous improvement to maintain optimal machine efficiency
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, transit areas, workshop, and stores
  • Support the Operations team in achieving targets
  • Comply with health and safety policies and procedures
  • Contribute to cost-effective technical solutions
  • Meet operational expectations
  • Participate in weekend call-out rota

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Relevant engineering qualification in mechanical engineering (City and Guilds level 3/NVQ level 3)
  • Experience working in a small team, with aptitude for mechanical/electrical works, breakdowns, repairs, and fault diagnosis
  • Strong mechanical skills to minimize downtime
  • Preferably electrical fault-finding skills, especially on PLCs, drives, and inverters
  • Excellent mechanical fault finding and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering diagrams
  • Pneumatic skills and experience
  • Knowledge of HV/LV Switchgear and electrical drives
  • Understanding of PLCs, functions, and program modifications/fault finding (Electrical)
  • Ability to organize and schedule own workload effectively
