Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Continental Shift (4 on 4 off Days and Nights)

We are looking for a motivated Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a market-leading food manufacturing company. Reporting directly to the engineering manager, you will be a key member in ensuring the production facility operates smoothly. You will be involved in all aspects of planned and reactive maintenance within their operation. With progressive training and development, this company is always looking to enhance its employees' skills and is supported by a welcoming team of engineers. The position will appeal to a strong engineer seeking their next challenging role within a secure and stable company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ensure production priorities are understood so that maintenance works are carried out to meet production targets.
  1. Notify the operational team if any risks to product safety or quality are identified during duties.
  1. Perform preventative maintenance and servicing of machinery and equipment.
  1. Install new equipment and assist with movements and overhauls of existing machinery.
  1. Overhaul and repair plant and machinery, including PLCs.
  1. Carry out electrical installations and work with single and three-phase electrical circuits.
  1. Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company procedures and good manufacturing practices.
  1. Coordinate and work with contractors during maintenance activities.
  • Conduct fault finding, testing, and the removal or adjustment of fittings, fixtures, and parts. Determine the cause of faults and undertake cost-effective solutions to remedy defects when detailed specifications are not provided.
  • Communicate with management regarding engineering issues, repair timescales, and seek advice when needed, understanding the impact of downtime.
