Job summary

Regional Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineer (60/40 mechanical/electrical) to join a busy manufacturing site in Leicester. This is a permanent, full-time role offering a 4 on/4 off rota, 12-hour shifts, and the potential for unlimited overtime.

You will maintain conveyors, motors and production equipment, fault-find quickly, and work both independently and with the team to minimise downtime in a plastic recycling environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ maintenance engineering experience.
• Strong mechanical maintenance background.
• Strong electrical maintenance background.
• Experience in manufacturing, production, recycling or industrial environments.
• Excellent fault-finding and breakdown skills.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, gearboxes, bearings and conveyors.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive approach to maintenance and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across the site.
• Responding to mechanical and electrical breakdowns and carrying out repairs.
• Fault finding and diagnosing issues with production and manufacturing equipment.
• Maintaining and repairing conveyors, motors, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Supporting continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
• Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime.
• Ensuring all maintenance work is completed safely and to a high standard.
• Assisting with installation and improvement projects when required.
