Overview

First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic manufacturing business that is looking to recruit a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer on a permanent basis due to growth at their Hull depot.

This role involves providing specialist engineering and nuclear expertise to the training design process, supporting the development of the Skills business, which offers a wide range of engineering training courses.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate safe working practices at all times.
  • Produce and review RAMs.
  • Perform RCA and detailed fault finding.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance, along with all associated system activities.
  • Use all site safety systems, including L.O.T.O system, testing for dead and safe reinstallation to the plant.
  • Follow correct permit systems, produce risk assessments, safe systems of work, and COSHH assessments to safely complete tasks.
  • Work on PLCs, HMIs, DCS, and communications hardware and software.
  • Perform instrument calibrations and control valve maintenance.
  • Refurbish all types of plant and equipment, including laboratory, factory, and effluent treatment plants.
  • Carry out duty holder roles.
  • Work with hazardous systems, including steam, air, water, and dangerous chemicals like HCL, nitric acid, caustic, and ammonia, including their bulk storage.
  • Mentor others to promote good knowledge of the plant across all aspects of work.
  • Maintain good communication with all staff, keeping them informed of work undertaken and handovers upon completion.
  • Participate in wider project teams or perform multi-skilled activities.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • An apprentice-trained engineer with either mechanical or electrical bias, trained in both.
  • Familiar with instrument calibrations.
  • Experience with HMIs, PLCs, DCS, and SCADA fault finding.
  • Electrical 17th/18th edition qualification.
  • Experience with CMMS, preventative/predictive maintenance (desirable).
  • Ability to manage contractors (desirable).
  • H&S and environmental awareness, such as NEBOSH or IOSH Managing Safety (desirable).
  • Experience with Siemens systems (desirable).
  • Experience with Yokogawa DCS (desirable).

Location: Hull

Salary: £49,937

Working Hours: 38 hours/week with various shift patterns, as the business operates 24/7.
