Job description

Experienced with mechanical and electrical fault finding & repair?

We are currently seeking an experienced Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer with electrical experience to join an existing, high performing and experienced team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy-duty cargo material handling systems, ensuring their optimal performance and minimising downtime.

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum

Hours: 7:00 am - 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conducting routine maintenance checks on material handling systems, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components.

  2. Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues.

  3. Performing repairs and replacements of faulty parts as necessary.

  4. Conducting preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns and ensure continuous operation.

  5. Responding promptly to equipment breakdowns and resolving issues efficiently to minimise downtime.

  6. Collaborating with other team members and departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of maintenance activities.

  7. Documenting maintenance activities and keeping accurate records of equipment performance and repairs.

Requirements:
  1. Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer, preferably with a focus on heavy-duty cargo material handling systems, conveyors or large capital/industrial equipment.

  2. Relevant maintenance (Electrical or Mechanical) qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).

  3. Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills and the ability to read electrical schematics.

  4. Experience with mechanical and hydraulic systems is advantageous.

  5. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients.

  6. Able to provide 5 years full working references for air-side clearance.
