Job summary

Jonathan Lee Group in Bedhampton, Hampshire, is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Engineer to fault-find and maintain a diverse range of equipment, including Siemens PLC systems and hydraulic/pneumatic controls.

The role covers electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and instrumentation disciplines, with a 4-day week (Mon-Thu) and 14:00–23:45 shifts; salary is competitive and based on experience.

Qualifications

• Level 3 electrical or mechanical qualification, vocational certs or apprenticeship.
• At least 3 years’ experience in an industrial maintenance or engineering environment.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding ability.
• Good knowledge of hydraulics and fluid power systems.
• Experience with PLC-controlled machinery, ideally Siemens.
• The ability to interpret electrical schematics and mechanical/hydraulic drawings.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on bespoke engineering equipment.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and control-system faults.
• Fault-find on Siemens PLC-controlled equipment, including hardware, I/O, configuration and control faults.
• Identify root causes and implement effective, long-term solutions.
• Work from electrical schematics, hydraulic circuit diagrams, mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
• Test, repair, calibrate and replace electrical, mechanical and hydraulic components.
• Fault-find on control panels, motors, sensors, switches, actuators, instrumentation and safety circuits.

Industrial Maintenance Engineer

Are you a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer who enjoys fault-finding, problem-solving and working on technically challenging equipment?

Our client is looking for an experienced Industrial Maintenance Engineer to join their specialist engineering facility in Bedhampton.

The role is genuinely multi-disciplinary, covering electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, instrumentation and PLC-controlled systems.

Location: Bedhampton, Hampshire
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Contract: Permanent
Shift: Monday to Thursday (4 shift week, 3 day weekend every week

14:00–23:45

Key Responsibilities

You will work across a technically diverse range of equipment, including:

• Siemens PLC systems
• Siemens S7 / TIA Portal
• Hydraulic power units
• Pumps, valves, cylinders and actuators
• Proportional and servo hydraulic systems
• Electrical control panels
• Motors and motor control systems
• Variable speed drives
• Sensors and safety circuits
• Pneumatic systems

What We’re Looking For

We’re keen to speak with experienced Maintenance Engineers, Multi-Skilled Engineers, Electrical Maintenance Engineers, Mechanical Maintenance Engineers or Controls/Automation experienced Maintenance Engineers

You’ll ideally have:

• Level 3 electrical or mechanical qualification, vocational certs or apprenticeship
• At least 3 years’ experience in an industrial maintenance or engineering environment.
