Job summary

PRS LTD is recruiting a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias to join our Hatfield-based team. The role is on-site, with 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00 shifts, five days per week, and a circa £46K salary plus benefits.

You will fault-find on PLCs, perform planned maintenance on material handling equipment, and uphold high safety and quality standards while supporting facilities and admin tasks as required.

Qualifications

• Qualified and time-served technician with strong electrical background.
• Experience in fault finding and rectification in a demanding production environment.
• Experience with PLCs is an advantage.
• Experience maintaining automated materials handling equipment or similar.

Responsibilities

• Electrical maintenance of material handling equipment.
• PLC fault finding and testing.
• Respond to machine faults and perform planned maintenance.
• Provide emergency response for essential equipment breakdowns.
• Maintain machinery to high standards and rectify defects promptly.
• Support facilities when required.
• Complete time sheets and manage stock control.
• Order consumables and manage admin tasks.

PRS Engineering has engaged with a new client a leading technology specialist, manufacturing hardware and delivering technology solutions across the globe. Due to increase in demand and a rise in production, we are seeking 2 Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer or Shift Engineers on a permanent basis. Ideally the Multi-Skilled Engineer will have an electrical bias.

In this role, you will work to ensure that the highest standards in maintenance are consistently achieved. As part of the MHE department, you will be involved in maintaining and servicing a range of systems and effective recovery/rectification of any faults/planned maintenance on the MHE equipment.

The successful applicant will be required to be onsite at the head office (Hatfield) 5 days a week,working shift patterns.
Shift patterns are;- 06:00am-14:00pm AND 14:00pm-22:00pm

What You’ll Do

• Electrical maintenance of material handling equipment
• PLC and three-phase fault finding and testing
• Respond promptly to machine faults and carry out planned maintenance on a scheduled basis
• Provide emergency response for essential equipment breakdowns
• Ensure regular maintenance of machinery and equipment to the highest standards
• Actively identify and rectify defects in a timely manner
• Support with facilities when required
• Complete time sheets, task sheets, and manage stock control
• Order consumables and manage administrative tasks

What You’ll Need

• Qualified and time-served technician with strong electrical background
• Experienced in fault finding and rectification in a demanding production environment
• Previous experience of working with PLCs an advantage
• Experience in maintaining automated materials handling equipment or similar
• Self-motivated and flexible with excellent interpersonal skills
• Good communication skills
• Able to work at heights
• Astute practical awareness of Health and Safety principles
• Health & Safety qualification or training in the use of high bay racking access equipment and controlled descent rescue procedures

Desirable

• City & Guilds/BTEC in Electrical Engineering
• Basic mechanical skills
• Working knowledge of automated materials handling equipment
