Job summary

Proactive Personnel Ltd. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our client’s team in an industrial environment in the United Kingdom. The role is hands-on, multi-skilled, covering electrical and mechanical maintenance on a range of plant equipment.

The position is a 12-week temp-to-perm contract, with Monday to Friday day shifts and a pay rate of £20.00 per hour. Applicants should have at least five years of relevant experience and be prepared to be trained in Telehandler and MEWP

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in plant fitting and maintenance within an industrial environment.
• Multi-skilled background – Electrical & Mechanical knowledge essential.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and fabricate accordingly.
• Must provide own small/general-purpose tools.
• Willingness to be trained in Telehandler and MEWP operation.
• Strong commitment to safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on a range of plant equipment including conveyors, control panels, motors, gearboxes and bearings.
• Conduct proactive and reactive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Carry out welding and fabrication work to a high standard.
• Follow Health & Safety procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work independently and as part of a team to meet production and efficiency targets.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our clients team. This is a hands‑on, multi‑skilled position involving both electrical and mechanical maintenance in an industrial environment.

  • Feed Hoppers
  • Automatic Optical Sorting Equipment
• Conduct both proactive and reactive maintenance to ensure minimal downtime.
• Carry out welding (stick and MIG) and fabrication work to a high standard.
• Follow company Health & Safety procedures, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work both independently and as part of a team to meet production and efficiency targets.
