Job summary

Global Banking School (GBS) is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join the Estates & Facilities team. You will maintain, install, and refurbish building fabric and equipment across our UK campus portfolio, ensuring safe and compliant learning environments.

This hands-on role covers planned and preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, and support for refurbishment projects. It requires an active DBS and a flexible, proactive approach, with occasional out-of-hours work to minimise

Qualifications

• PPM and reactive maintenance on M&E systems.
• Experience with trade skills: plumbing, electrical fittings, carpentry, decorating.
• Knowledge of HVAC, lighting, fire interfaces inspections, PAT, and Legionella checks.
• Experience supporting refurbishments and campus upgrades.
• COSHH compliance knowledge for chemicals and equipment.
• Full, clean driving license.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems.
• Perform general trades tasks (plumbing, carpentry, decorating) as required.
• Conduct inspections (HVAC, lighting, fire interfaces), PAT, and Legionella checks.
• Assist refurbishment projects and campus upgrades.
• Keep accurate records and manage stock; comply with safe systems of work.

Job description

The Role: Join the Estates & Facilities team at Global Banking School (GBS) as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer. You'll maintain, install, and refurbish building fabric and equipment across our UK campus portfolio, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient learning environments. This hands-on role combines planned and preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, and support for refurbishment projects, with occasional out-of-hours work to minimise disruption. Please note: This role requires a DBS and is not eligible for sponsorship. What the Role Involves:

• Planned & reactive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and building systems
• General trades: plumbing, electrical fittings, carpentry, decorating
• Inspections (HVAC, lighting, fire interfaces), PAT, fire door & Legionella checks
• Support refurbishments, installations, and campus upgrades
• Accurate records, stock control, and safe systems of work
• Travel and Flexibility
  18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
• City & Guilds Level 2 and/or Level 3 in Electrical Installations, or equivalent NVQ, or demonstrable experience to the same standard.
• Previous experience in building maintenance including M&E systems.
• Manual skills, knowledge of refurbishment techniques.
• A flexible and proactive approach to work with "can do" attitude.
• Familiarity with COSHH requirements for the equipment and chemicals being used.
• Interpersonal skill and ability to work on your own but at the same time part of the facilities wider team
• Full, Clean Driving License
