MCS Group is delighted to be recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer on behalf of a leading manufacturing business in Mallusk.

This is an excellent opportunity for a multi-skilled engineer to join a well-established company and play a key role in maintaining, repairing, and improving a wide range of production equipment.

The Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of plant and machinery across the facility. You will carry out planned maintenance, respond quickly to breakdowns, and support continuous improvement projects to maximise productivity and minimise downtime.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on production equipment such as conveyors, ovens, compressors, extraction systems, and overhead cranes.
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults.
  • Supporting installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment upgrades.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and service reports.
  • Working with suppliers, contractors, and service providers for specialist repairs or parts.
  • Providing technical support to production teams and assisting with operator training.
The Person

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • NVQ Level 3 / ONC / HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • A multi-skilled background with both mechanical and electrical experience.
  • Proven track record in maintenance engineering within a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
  • Commitment to safe working practices and good teamwork skills.

Desirable (but not essential):

  • 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations.
  • Welding and fabrication skills.
  • Experience with galvanising, powder coating, or similar coating processes.
