Job summary

Seven Semi-Skilled Labourers are sought for the Property Services Team in South Tyneside. The post carries a salary of £29,542 per annum plus a temporary Market Forces Supplement of £4,856, making a total of £34,398 per year.

Role involves delivering a wide range of labouring works across occupied and vacant properties, supporting domestic and commercial projects, and ensuring work adheres to health and safety and customer service standards. Closing date: 6 October 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering labouring tasks across occupied and vacant properties.
• Willingness to undertake training to meet council requirements.
• Ability to operate plant machinery, including trucks and excavators.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out skilled labouring duties in a responsible and respectful manner.
• Undertaking training to meet council requirements.
• Ensuring work is completed within agreed timescales and to customer satisfaction.
• Operating vehicles as required and site clearance tasks.
• Setting up sites and undertaking demolition where needed.
• Digging trenches and laying concrete, pavements, kerbs and drains.
• Working with architects' drawings and engineers' specifications.
• Maintaining high standards of customer care in residents' homes.
