Job summary

Northumberland County Council is recruiting for a Joiner/Multi-skilled tradesperson to deliver repairs and maintain housing stock across Northumberland, based in Morpeth. You will carry out general joinery, plastering, minor plumbing and related trades, while working safely to HS regulations and maintaining vehicles/logbooks.

Experience in social housing environments is desirable; a full driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience of working as a Joiner in the building trade all aspects of joinery.
• Experience of working for a Social Landlord, housing association or council (desirable)
• Associated trade skills of plaster patching, minor plumbing works tiling etc.
• Experience of delivering multi-trade work
• Ensure that all work is carried out safely in line with H&S regulations, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• General repairs and maintenance to housing stock, fitting kitchens, hanging doors, fencing, skirting architrave, repairing changing locks to doors and windows, cladding, facias soffits, flooring including joists, garage doors, bath panels & associated boxings.
• Working at height ie scaffolds and off ladders.
• Assist with other trades.
• To maintain works vehicle, keep in clean and tidy condition fill in logbooks as required.
