Job summary

RG Setsquare in York is seeking a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a professional Facilities Management team supporting a busy healthcare environment in York.

You will carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance across a complex site, with strong mechanical and/or electrical skills to diagnose faults and keep building services safe and fully operational.

Qualifications

• Experience in PPM and reactive maintenance.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Healthcare or Facilities Management environment experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the site.
• Diagnose faults and undertake repairs across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Complete detailed fault finding and troubleshooting.
• Complete PPM schedules in line with SFG20 and site requirements.
• Respond to breakdowns and maintenance requests in a timely manner.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with Health & Safety procedures.
• Complete maintenance records and update the CAFM system.
• Work with specialist contractors and other engineers to resolve issues.
• Support statutory, regulatory and compliance requirements.

We're looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a professional Facilities Management team supporting a busy healthcare environment in York.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on engineer with strong mechanical and/or electrical skills to carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and fault finding across a complex site.

Working within a healthcare environment, you'll play an important role in ensuring essential building services, equipment and facilities remain safe, compliant and fully operational.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the site.
• Diagnosing faults and undertaking repairs across a range of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Completing detailed fault finding and troubleshooting.
• Completing PPM schedules in line with SFG20 and site requirements.
• Responding promptly to breakdowns and maintenance requests.
• Ensuring all maintenance activities comply with Health & Safety procedures.
• Completing maintenance records and updating the CAFM system.
• Working closely with specialist contractors and other engineers.
• Supporting statutory, regulatory and compliance requirements.

What We're Looking For:

• Previous experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer.
• Strong electrical and/or mechanical maintenance skills.
• Proven experience in PPM and reactive maintenance.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience within Facilities Management, Building Services, Healthcare or a similar environment.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety and compliance.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Desirable:

• Previous experience within NHS, private healthcare or another high‑compliance environment.
• Experience across a broad range of mechanical, electrical and building services systems.
• Knowledge of SFG20 maintenance standards.
• Experience using CAFM systems.
