Job summary

Princes Limited is seeking a skilled maintenance professional for a permanent night shift roster (4 on 4 off) to ensure continuous production and service. The role covers breakdown response, planned maintenance, calibrations, and documenting all work across the plant.

Responsibilities include proactive maintenance, root cause analysis, and coaching the team while collaborating with planning, stores, and suppliers to secure spare parts and resources.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience with rotary sterilising equipment (FMC/JBT), including pumps and control valves.
• Competence in maintenance of FMCG machinery, pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical circuits.
• Electrical diagnosis and repair of motors, control and lighting systems; PLC understanding.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety, quality and hygiene per H&S, LOTO, permit-to-work and GMP standards.
• Maintain and improve the planned maintenance system; monitor progress.
• Record work on breakdowns, repairs, modifications and ensure closure.
• Update plant parameters and set-points as procedures.
• Assist with training and support other departments in the factory.

Job description

Role Description This is a permanent Night Shift roster - 4 on 4 off. The role involves effective & efficient maintenance of the plant, responding to breakdowns, planned maintenance and calibrations, recording all work, and ensuring continuity of production and services. The responsibilities include proactive maintenance, minimizing engineering downtime, moving from breakdown to proactive approach, identifying root causes, coaching the team, improving performance through continuous improvement, and communicating effectively with all levels of colleagues, clients, suppliers, contractors and customers. Principal Responsibilities

Principal Responsibilities

• Ensure safety, quality, and hygiene - adhere to H&S policies, LOTO, permit-to-work, and GMP standards.
• Support a culture of behavioural awareness to reduce accidents and near misses.
• Maintain and improve the planned maintenance system, monitoring progress.
• Record work on breakdowns, repairs, modifications, and ensure issues are tracked to closure.
• Update plant parameters and set-points as per procedures.
• Assist with training and support other departments in the factory.
• Communicate with support functions, planning, manufacturing, and engineering stores regarding resources, projects and spare parts availability.
• Conduct shift briefings and ensure end-of-shift documentation.

Role Requirements

• Recognised competence in maintenance of FMCG machinery, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical circuits.
• General understanding of PLC control systems used within the equipment.
• Electrical competence for diagnosis and repair of motors, control, and lighting systems.
• Computer literacy (SAP, Microsoft Office).
• Experience in CI environment.
• 18th Edition IEE Regulation qualification.
• Working experience in food manufacturing, knowledge of rotary and hydrostatic sterilising equipment, diagnostics of finished product damage.

Skills

• Mandatory: 5+ years hands-on experience with rotary sterilising equipment, preferably FMC/JBT, including pumps and control valves.
• Basic PC skills.
