Role Description:

Please note: This is a Night shift role, Monday-Thursday 21:48 - 06:00, Friday 17:58 - 00:00.

Job Purpose: Reporting to a Glasgow shift lead and forming part of a multi-skilled shift maintenance team, the post holder will maintain equipment and repair faults as directed.

Shift pattern: Phase 1: Rotating Day shift up to 12 weeks training. Phase 2: Night Shift pattern, Monday-Thursday 21:48 - 06:00, Friday 17:58 - 00:00.

Site equipment includes:

  • Syrup Room
  • Canning production lines
  • Maintaining equipment such as Kisters, Depalletiser, Palletisers
  • Onsite Services including Boilers, Compressors
Principle Accountabilities:
  • Undertake roles in accordance with health, safety, environmental, food hygiene, and quality requirements.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimize downtime and costs.
  • Fault finding on automated equipment.
  • Implement modifications and improvements.
  • Support preventative maintenance schemes.
  • Complete maintenance schedules and operational improvements.
  • Support continuous improvement projects.
  • Communicate with relevant departments on breakdowns and progress.
  • Maintain accurate CMMS records.
  • Monitor equipment efficiency and implement improvements.
  • Update engineering spares store records.
  • Maintain work areas to 5S standards.
  • Record and communicate adjustments to production equipment.
  • Be competent in machine and equipment operating and cleaning procedures.
  • Review daily targets and report variances.
  • Resolve operational problems, carry out fault diagnosis and repairs.
  • Effective handovers and communication.
  • Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned.
  • Ensure food safety and quality standards are maintained.

Note: This list is not exhaustive. Flexibility is required and will be discussed with the line manager.

Role Requirements:
  • Electrical Engineering Qualifications and apprenticeship.
  • Experience in FMCG engineering.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with CMMS like SAP.
  • Problem-solving skills with Root Cause Analysis tools.
