Job Description:

Pilgrims Attleborough is seeking a Night Shift Multi Skilled Engineer to join their team.

Working hours are from 17:00 to 05:00, 4 days on, 4 days off.

Salary: Competitive hourly rate of £25.43.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Performing scheduled maintenance routines, installing new equipment, conducting breakdown maintenance, and fault finding.
  • Reducing unscheduled downtime through immediate response and root cause analysis.
  • Ensuring food safety, hygiene, and adherence to company procedures.
  • Achieving a 100% PPM completion rate.

Key responsibilities:

  • Follow-up on engineering work.
  • Complete PPM schedules and daily check sheets.
  • Manage safety and escalate unsafe situations or tasks.
  • Manage workload and report task completion.
  • Attend breakdowns longer than 30 minutes and perform fault finding on electrical and mechanical systems, including PLC, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ensure all work complies with company policies and safety standards.
  • Keep the workshop and engineering areas tidy, perform daily toolbox checks, and report damages or missing tools.

Key attributes:

  • Ability to work well in a small team of two night engineers.
  • Confident in faulting and repairing electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, steam, and control faults independently.
  • Self-motivated and able to follow instructions from team leaders.
  • Positive, confident, and proactive attitude.
  • Capable of working under pressure, prioritizing tasks, and communicating effectively at all levels.
