Overview

Salary: £43,381.60 per annum

Hours: 38-hour working week (average 42 hours per week across shift pattern)

Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off - rotating days and nights

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Multi Skilled Engineer with a mechanical bias to join a high-performing manufacturing team within a modern, fast-paced production environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and improving complex production machinery and systems to ensure consistent performance, efficiency, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair faults on production machinery, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives within the manufacturing process.
  • Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery upgrades.
  • Work closely with production and engineering teams to optimise equipment performance.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and update relevant documentation.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with Health & Safety and quality standards.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Time-served or qualified to at least HNC level in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with proven experience in electrical fault-finding and repair.
  • Experience in an automated, high-volume manufacturing or packaging environment preferred.
  • Good understanding of PLC systems, sensors, drives, and control systems (desirable).
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, hands-on approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
