Job summary

Mitie is seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer - Gas Engineer Bias at HSE Buxton to deliver planned and reactive maintenance across gas and mechanical systems within a busy site. You’ll join our Hard Services team and ensure safe operation while supporting the client contract.

The role requires gas/plumbing qualifications, a Full UK Driving Licence, and prior building services experience. On-call duties and out-of-hours work may be required, with opportunities for development within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Gas/plumbing trade qualifications or certifications.
• Industry exposure within Science or Research Centres.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across mechanical, electrical and fabric services.
• Undertake fault finding, diagnosis and repair of gas and mechanical systems to ensure continuous service delivery.
• Respond to breakdowns and support the on-call function when required.
• Complete statutory inspections, compliance checks and maintenance activities in line with contractual requirements.
• Carry out plumbing and gas-related tasks, including repairs to toilets, showers, sinks and associated systems, while maintaining high health and safety standards.

Role Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across mechanical, electrical and fabric services.
• Undertake fault finding, diagnosis and repair of gas and mechanical systems to ensure continuous service delivery.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role:

• Hold Gas/Plumbing trade qualifications or certifications.
• Industry exposure within Science or Research Centres.
• Strong knowledge of statutory compliance requirements relating to gas and building services maintenance.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
