Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned maintenance, servicing, and safety checks on gas appliances and systems in residential properties.
  • Respond to emergency call-outs and perform reactive repairs on boilers, heating systems, and relevant gas equipment.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out effective and timely repairs.
  • Ensure all work complies with current gas safety legislation and company procedures, prioritizing safety.
  • Identify and report additional works or safety issues to the office or client.
  • Provide high-level customer care, interacting with clients and tenants to meet or exceed quality standards.
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety requirements, including Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work, and COSHH Records.
  • Communicate work updates and progress, completing paperwork electronically and manually.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and stock to ensure availability of parts needed for jobs.

Role Overview:

The role involves handling repair and maintenance jobs across various specializations including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry. The individual will carry out pre-planned maintenance and reactive repairs, and engage in effective communication with clients.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, technically skilled, proactive, and committed to delivering quality service. The work environment varies and requires adaptability to different settings and client needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Skills & Experience:

  • Valid domestic and/or commercial gas qualifications, including CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1 (essential).
  • NVQ Level 3 in electrical installations or equivalent, or basic electrical experience.
  • Valid UK driving license (essential).
  • Practical experience in gas and electrical maintenance in domestic and commercial settings.
  • Understanding of gas/electrical safety regulations and standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Professional, friendly attitude and ability to build strong relationships with clients and tenants.
