Multi-Skilled Engineer

A great opportunity has arisen for a proactive and electrically focused Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a small, supportive engineering team at a manufacturing site in Cambridge.This hands-on role includes carrying out planned maintenance, responding to equipment faults, supporting continuous improvement projects, and maintaining accurate documentation through a digital maintenance system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and condition-based preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns, carry out first-line diagnostics and repairs
  • Collaborate with operations teams to deliver improvements to equipment performance
  • Conduct risk assessments and maintain safety compliance in partnership with the wider team
  • Use a CMMS (computerised maintenance management system) to log tasks and maintenance records
  • Monitor and manage spares inventory, including cataloguing and stock checks

Requirements

  • Level 3 qualification (or higher) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • Strong understanding of PLC logic and control systems
  • Able to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
  • Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills
  • Experience with motion control, hydraulics, and pneumatics
