Job summary

Sodexo in London is seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer - Electrical bias to maintain and improve critical building services. You will perform planned and reactive electrical maintenance, troubleshoot faults, and work within permit-to-work and safety frameworks to keep facilities running smoothly.

The role requires a qualified electrical engineer with 5 years' experience, strong IT and CAFM usage, and a proactive, team‑oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Qualified electrical engineer with City & Guilds/NVQ Level 1-3 in electrical engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years' engineering or electrical maintenance experience.
• Experience with PPM, reactive maintenance, fault-finding and electrical installation work.
• Good knowledge of electrical systems, statutory compliance and H&S requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned, preventive and reactive maintenance across electrical systems and building services.
• Diagnose faults quickly, complete repairs to minimise disruption and keep services running safely.
• Install, maintain and repair electrical systems and plant equipment per standards.
• Inspect and maintain building services including HVAC and fire alarms.
• Use CAFM systems and handheld devices to manage work orders and record progress.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and report safety concerns promptly.
• Work with Building Management Systems (BMS) and ensure safe operations.

As a Multi Skilled Engineer - Electrical bias you'll:

• Carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across electrical systems and associated building services.
• Diagnose electrical faults quickly and effectively, completing repairs to minimise disruption and keep services running safely and reliably.
• Install, maintain and repair electrical systems and associated plant equipment in line with statutory requirements and industry standards.
• Carry out inspections and preventative maintenance across building services, including electrical systems, HVAC, fire alarms and associated equipment.
• Support wider building maintenance activities, using your multi-skilled experience to help keep the site operating effectively.
• Monitor and operate Building Management Systems (BMS) where required.
• Work in accordance with Permit to Work systems, Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.
• Coordinate and work alongside specialist subcontractors, ensuring activities are completed safely and to the required standard.
• Use CAFM systems and handheld devices to manage work orders, update job progress and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Identify and report equipment defects, safety concerns, accidents and near misses promptly.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, clients and contractors, communicating any engineering issues that could impact service delivery.
• Help achieve

100% statutory compliance by ensuring planned maintenance activities are completed accurately and within required timescales.

• Support weekend and out-of-hours maintenance activities where work cannot be completed during normal client operating hours.

What we're looking for:

• A qualified Electrical Engineer with a

City & Guilds/NVQ Level 1, 2 or 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related electrical discipline.

• A minimum of

5 years' relevant engineering or electrical maintenance experience.

• Strong experience carrying out

PPM, reactive maintenance, fault-finding and electrical installation work.

• Good knowledge of electrical systems, statutory compliance and Health & Safety requirements.
• Experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Good knowledge of HVAC systems and associated building services.
• Basic mechanical and plumbing skills would be advantageous.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, handheld devices and maintenance/CAFM systems.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• A customer-focused approach with high standards and pride in the quality of your work.
• A positive, flexible and adaptable attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work professionally with clients, colleagues and contractors.
• A willingness to undertake further training and development to expand your technical skills.
• Flexibility to work weekends and outside normal operating hours when required for planned or intrusive maintenance activities.
