About Our Client

Our client is a highly esteemed organisation within the retail industry. They are a large organisation with a strong presence across the UK, known for their innovative approach to technology in their pursuit of providing top-notch service to their customers.

Job Description

  • Complete maintenance to a high standard, ensuring any items needing rectification are either immediately repaired or logged and scheduled for revisiting.
  • Operate with safety in mind at all times, dynamically risk-assessing all jobs to ensure safety of oneself and others.
  • Build effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders from all departments, supporting operational teams where possible.
  • Monitor site performance to ensure effective operation, understanding terms such as availability and performance, and using various means to measure these.
  • Be proactive and dynamic with timekeeping, providing value to the customer within working hours, and seeking continuous improvement.
  • Create documentation for major breakdowns/outages, using root cause analysis and best practices.
  • Support site maintenance budget adherence through a no-waste approach, repairing and testing replaced equipment for future use where possible.
  • Maintain administrative records, ensuring the CMMS reflects the current maintenance status, and complete shift reports to a high standard.

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off, 3 banks of 3 on days (06:00-18:00), 1 bank of 4 on nights (12 days, 4 nights)

The Successful Applicant

An experienced Electrical Bias Maintenance/Automation Engineer, ideally from a warehouse/logistics background, with:

  • A recognised qualification in Engineering.
  • Understanding of PLC & SCADA systems (desirable).
  • Proficiency in automation software and programming languages.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • A detail-oriented approach focused on quality and efficiency.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
