In your new role as an Air Conditioning Engineer, you will be efficiently operating and maintaining new and existing building AC/HVAC services, carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance & Reactive Maintenance on HVAC appliances, and performing diagnostic checks and fault finding. You will undertake general maintenance tasks to assist the general maintenance team, participate in a shift rota, and complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time.
Main Duties
- Perform routine PPM tasks in accordance with the SFG20 framework.
- Carry out reactive maintenance and electrical or air conditioning repairs as required.
- Complete minor new works and obtain necessary certification.
- Attend site meetings or training as required.
- Be proactive when on site.
- Willing to undertake other duties in line with contract deliverables.
- Cooperate with other disciplines for multi-discipline service provision where required.
- Procure materials and equipment through the Supervisor or Manager.
- Be available to carry out works outside normal hours with additional remuneration.
- Maximise the use of mobile technology (Smartphone) in work processes.
- Adhere to and promote the company and department's mission, vision, and values.
- Assist the site team in ensuring compliance with statutory and legislative requirements.
- Ensure client operational procedures are always followed.
- Obtain appropriate authorisation for access into restricted areas from the client's representative.
- Complete risk assessments and worksheets for work undertaken and secure client approval.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience in maintenance, testing, and fault finding on HVAC systems and lighting is desirable.
- Refrigeration or Air Conditioning specific qualifications (not F-Gas), such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Air Conditioning and Small Refrigeration, City & Guilds certifications, or F-Gas Category 1.
- At least 5 years of experience in an air conditioning service role (not installation).
- Experience with packaged or air handling equipment, split systems, and commercial equipment.
- C&G 2391 Electrical Inspection and Testing (desired).
- Ability to undertake all facets of maintenance and installation within contract scope.
- Pro-active with good diagnostic skills.
- Accurate record-keeping skills on worksheets and digital systems.
- Ability to prioritize workload effectively.
- Flexible approach to work and hours.
- Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- Professional appearance and conduct, utilising issued PPE and uniform.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Good understanding of health & safety legislation and statutory compliance.
- Ability to carry tools and equipment up to 20kg and work at height.
- Full UK driving licence.
