Job description

Electrically biased Multi Skilled Engineer

Location– Based in Sittingbourne

Salary£35,000 - £41,500 (paid breaks)

HoursMon–Fri 8:00 – 16.00 + Overtime and on call

Overview

Our hardworking large-scale Kitchens have plenty of equipment constantly on the go, helping to make our remarkable food. As part of the Engineering Team, you’re expected to deliver the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) process and support engineering equipment reliability & improvements. Inevitably, production equipment & site services plant break down at times. Part of the role here is to ensure that all breakdowns are dealt with promptly, with as little disturbance as possible to production

Main responsibilities:

* Work safely and compliantly following the company’s Culture of Care safety, and Values principles.

* Carry out physical and visual checks of on-site equipment, undertaking a programme of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM). Involvement in Projects for production, services & infrastructure, from concept to successful delivery and to budget.

* When dealing with breakdowns, use of Root Cause Analysis to identify corrective actions with effective repairs to prevent repeat failures on a wide array of production, manufacturing, site services & utilities plant, whilst limiting downtime.

* Work with our Operations teams to improve the efficiency of on-site equipment and machinery. Ensure close working relationships with those in Engineering and other teams linked to production, inclusive of management/leadership and project teams.

* Work with 3rd party Contractors, ensuring that any works are carried out to the expected requirement & are within accordance with company Health & Safety policies and practices.

* Be flexible with regards to working arrangements; be able to undertake a variety of jobs and understand that, as a 24-hour operation, working hours may vary, inclusive of a call-out process.

Ideally You Will Have

* Electrically biased Multi Skilled Engineer

* Engineering Apprenticeship with NVQ, National Certificate and City & Guilds qualifications

* Practical electrical & mechanical skills and experience within manufacturing environments – food or pharmaceutical industry (HACCP & Food Safety) is a nice to have

* Experience with a wide range of equipment; food production, packaging, sealing/labelling, scales, Metal Detection, refrigeration systems, steam generation and all aspects of site services

* A good understanding of Safe Systems of Work, with ongoing professional development
