Job description

Insight Employment is seeking a highly motivated Multi Skilled Engineer for a client in Milton Keynes.

The Role:

As a Multi Skilled Engineer, you will work closely with the Automation & Production teams to minimize downtime and implement new technologies to improve efficiency and performance. You will ensure that manufacturing processes run optimally.

Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Conduct routine inspections & maintenance of equipment, diagnose and troubleshoot issues, repair faulty components, and keep track records of work performed.
  • Apply preventive measures to avoid recurring problems and minimize downtime.
  • Support factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT), with potential travel to Europe, and assist during site setup.
  • Provide training and support to operators/staff on equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Manage spare parts inventory, ensuring availability for repairs and maintenance, and order replacements as needed.
  • Collaborate with Automation Engineering to optimize equipment and implement new technologies, providing feedback and suggestions for improvements.
  • Follow health & safety regulations, identify and address potential safety hazards.
Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • NQV Level 3 qualification in Electrical Maintenance or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to maintain and optimize automated manufacturing equipment, from installation to performance improvements.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS), and knowledge of food safety or pharmaceutical standards (e.g., BRC).
Hours/Shift:

Monday to Friday, rotating shifts: 06:00-15:00 and 13:00-22:00.

Salary: £50,000 per annum.
