Job summary

Noble Foods Home of the Happy Egg Co. is seeking a Multi-Skilled Engineer for our Leicester Added Value site. You will respond to breakdowns, perform planned maintenance, and support installation and commissioning of new equipment to keep our automated production running smoothly.

Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader, you will drive improvements in OEE, machine performance and reliability while upholding health & safety, GMP and site hygiene standards within a modern, automated facility.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an automated production environment.
• Experience in FMCG, food, or brewery sectors (preferred).
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• A commitment to continuous improvement and personal development.

Responsibilities

• Respond to breakdowns quickly and minimise downtime.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and servicing.
• Support installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Drive improvements in OEE, machine performance, and reliability.
• Work cross-functionally to enhance production standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation and support audit readiness.
• Identify inefficiencies and implement practical solutions.
• Champion Health & Safety, GMP, and site hygiene standards.

About the Role

Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader, you’ll be based at our Added Value site in Leicester, playing a critical role in maintaining and improving our automated production environment.

You’ll respond to breakdowns, deliver preventative maintenance, and collaborate with teams across the site to drive performance, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Responding quickly to breakdowns and minimising downtime
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and servicing
• Supporting installation and commissioning of new equipment
• Driving improvements in OEE, machine performance, and reliability
• Working cross-functionally to enhance production standards
• Maintaining accurate documentation and supporting audit readiness
• Identifying inefficiencies and implementing practical solutions
• Championing Health & Safety, GMP, and site hygiene standards

What We’re Looking For

• Multi-skilled engineer with Electrical and/or Mechanical qualifications (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3+)
• Recognised apprenticeship (highly desirable)
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an automated production environment
• Experience in FMCG, food, or brewery sectors (preferred)
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• A commitment to continuous improvement and personal development
