Wienerberger Ltd (UK & Ireland) is seeking a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer for the Sandtoft site near Doncaster. The role involves hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance, PPM tasks, and supporting colleagues to achieve high-quality output within a safety-focused manufacturing environment.

The role offers full training, progression, and a range of benefits; candidates should have strong PLC knowledge, manufacturing experience, and a passion for Lean improvements.

Formación

• Apprentice trained preferred; level 3 qualification in Engineering required; provide copies of qualifications / complete competence assessments
• ONC/BTEC or equivalent in Electrical engineering (Electrical discipline)
• HNC/BTEC or equivalent in Electrical engineering
• 17th/18th edition wiring regs
• Sound knowledge of Siemens PLCs – S7 TI A portal
• Time served Electrician with manufacturing experience (heavy manufacturing or FMCG)
• Team player with good communication and strong H&S mindset
• Lean manufacturing awareness and continuous improvement mindset
• Good knowledge of electric motors / pneumatics / mechanical systems

Responsabilidades

• Carry out essential maintenance through a programme of PPM
• Assist in developing agility maintenance systems
• Attend breakdowns promptly
• Maintain machine safety standards and critical spares
• Install / maintain electrical & electro-mechanical plant machinery
• Improve factory OEE through innovation of the production facility
• Operate preventative electrical maintenance systems
• Program Siemens PLCs and other PLC equipment
• Use testing equipment to locate and remedy faults
• Promote Lean thinking and seek efficiencies
• Contribute to RA and SSOW creation/review
• Adhere to Wienerberger quality system & BSEN ISO 9001

About The Role

As a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer at our Sandtoft site, you will be fully trained to work with our specialised tools and machinery to turn raw materials into products ready for use in the construction industry. You will become an expert on the machinery and support your colleagues to produce high quality results.

You will be hands-on with the day to day operations of our manufacturing site; operate various factory machinery, equipment and forklifts whilst ensuring high levels of health and safety at all times.

We will provide you with full training and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to enable you to safely and effectively work as a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer where you will…

• Carry out essential maintenance working through a programme of PPM
• Assist in developing the agility maintenance system
• Attend breakdowns
• Ensure machine safety standards are kept to the highest level and ensure critical spares are maintained
• Install / maintain electrical & electro-mechanical plant machinery
• Improve factory OEE through development and innovation of the production facility
• Operate a preventative electrical maintenance system
• Program Siemens / other PLC equipment
• Use various types of testing equipment to locate and remedy faults
• Promote Lean thinking and actively look for ways to improve efficiencies
• Actively contribute to the creation and review of RA and SSOW
• Ensure adherence to Wienerberger's quality system & standards in accordance with BSEN ISO 9001

This site produces Roof tiles, supporting our manufacturing of high quality building materials across the UK

This position is based at Sandtoft site, which is near Belton and easily commutable from Scunthorpe, Thorne, Gainsborough and Doncaster.

Hours of Work

Week 1, Monday to Friday - 07.00am to 17.00pm and Week 2, Monday to Thursday - 19.00pm to 07.00am

About You

• Preferably you will be apprentice trained, but with a minimum level 3 qualification in an Engineering discipline. Successful candidates will be asked to provide copies of their relevant qualifications / carry out competence assessments
• ONC/BTEC – HNC/BTEC or equivalent in Electrical engineering
• 17 th / 18 th edition qualified
• Sound knowledge of Siemens PLCs – s7 TIA portal
• Time served Electrician with experience of working in a manufacturing environment ideally heavy manufacturing (clay, refractory, quarrying, cement) or FMCG
• Team player and strong communicator
• Good exposure to health & safety standards
• Excellent analytical & fault finding / problem solving skills
• Good working knowledge of EHS
• Passionate about improvement with knowledge of Lean manufacturing
• Analytical & problem-solving skills
• Good knowledge of electric motors / pneumatics
• Sound mechanical knowledge and skills

• Based on working hours, and any eligible allowances and bonuses, annual earnings are approximately £57,000 to £65,000 (depending on experience)
