CBRE Global Workplace Solutions in Coalville is seeking a Multi‑Skilled Engineer to support plant, equipment and building services across a busy commercial contract.

The role involves preventive maintenance, reactive repairs, and ensuring safety and compliance in core FM systems. You will diagnose faults, perform first‑time fixes where possible, and assist with permit‑to‑work procedures.

Qualifications

  • Recognised or time‑served apprenticeship.
  • Strong manufacturing or industrial maintenance experience.
  • Electrical qualifications such as City & Guilds 236 Parts 1-2 or equivalent (17th Edition).
  • Mechanical qualifications to City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventive maintenance and reactive repairs across building services, plant rooms and site infrastructure.
  • Maintain and support core FM systems including HVAC, AHUs, FCUs, pumps, motors, lighting, emergency lighting, small power and general electrical systems.
  • Complete routine statutory and compliance checks, ensuring all work is delivered safely and in line with site procedures.
  • Respond to building services faults, diagnose issues quickly and complete first-time fixes where possible.
  • Support permit-to-work processes, risk assessments, method statements and contractor supervision where required.

Multi-Skilled Engineer - Coalville

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a market-leading provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are seeking a Multi‑Skilled Engineer to join our high‑performing maintenance team in Coalville, supporting plant, equipment and building services across a busy commercial contract.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across building services, plant rooms and site infrastructure.
  • Maintain and support core FM systems including HVAC, AHUs, FCUs, pumps, motors, lighting, emergency lighting, small power and general electrical systems.
  • Complete routine statutory and compliance checks, ensuring all work is delivered safely and in line with site procedures.
  • Respond to building‑services faults, diagnose issues quickly and complete first‑time fixes where possible.
  • Support minor plumbing, heating, ventilation, drainage and fabric maintenance tasks as required.
  • Work safely on low‑voltage electrical systems, carrying out basic fault‑finding, isolations and repairs within competence.
  • Use CAFM systems and mobile devices to receive, update and close planned and reactive tasks accurately.
  • Liaise with the client, site teams and contractors to resolve maintenance issues and maintain a high standard of service delivery.
  • Support permit‑to‑work processes, risk assessments, method statements and contractor supervision where required.
  • Act as a responsible and visible member of the engineering team, supporting wider FM operations and deputising for the Shift Leader when needed.
What We’re Looking For
  • Recognised or time‑served apprenticeship.
  • Strong manufacturing or industrial maintenance experience.
  • Electrical qualifications such as City & Guilds 236 Parts 1-2 or equivalent (17th Edition).
  • Mechanical qualifications to City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2.
  • Ability to fault‑find across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with 3‑phase motors, drives and inverters.
  • PLC diagnostic or repair capabilities (advantageous).
  • Confident supervising contractors and managing safety documentation.
