Maintenance Engineer
Up to £57,000 DOE
Cambridgeshire

Our client, a well-established food manufacturer, is looking for a Shift Engineer to join their growing team. This opportunity has arisen due to an ongoing site expansion, making it an exciting time to join. The Engineering Manager has worked hard to build a strong, supportive team culture, where engineers collaborate, help each other, and take pride in their work.

Role Overview

Joining a strong existing team reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will play a key role in keeping the production facility running smoothly. You'll take a proactive approach to equipment maintenance, ensuring preventative maintenance (PPM) is completed and responding efficiently to breakdowns to minimise downtime.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Carry out both mechanical and electrical maintenance on factory equipment as per the routine schedule.
  2. Install and commission new equipment.
  3. Ensure PPM's are completed and updating CMMS system.
  4. Manage assigned tasks effectively and support external contractors on-site.
  5. The site will be having ongoing project work to get involved and support with.

Qualifications & Skills

Essential:

  1. Experience in a FMCG/Food/Manufacturing environment
  2. Electrical and/or mechanical qualifications or time-served apprenticeship.
  3. Minimum 2 years' experience in an automated production setting.
  4. Strong Communication skills.

Desirable:

  1. Knowledge of PLC systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, temperature control, instrumentation, welding.
  2. FLT licence.
