Job summary

Warburtons is seeking a technically strong Multi-Skilled Engineer at our Bolton site. You will work in a 24/7, high-speed, automated food manufacturing environment with a focus on electrical bias and mechanical skills.

The role includes PPM, RCA, CBM and energy efficiency projects to drive operational excellence. You will diagnose faults, deliver long-term fixes and upgrade systems while aligning with an Engineering Academy that supports skill development.

Qualifications

• Technically strong multi-skilled engineers with an electrical bias and mechanical skills.
• Apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification.
• Experience with condition-based monitoring (thermal imaging, ultrasound, vibration analysis) is a bonus.
• Top-tier problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Safety-first mindset with knowledge of H&S systems and legislation.
• Desire to develop, contribute and take ownership in a team aiming for operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Condition-Based Monitoring (CBM).
• Lead Continuous Improvement and Energy Efficiency projects.
• Diagnose faults to prevent downtime and implement long-term fixes and system upgrades.

Technically strong Multi Skilled Engineers, predominately electrically biased with mechanical skills (ideally in FMCG or high‑volume manufacturing)
An apprenticeship, BTEC, HNC or similar engineering qualification
Experience with condition‑based monitoring (thermal imaging, ultrasound, vibration analysis) is a bonus
Top‑tier problem‑solving and root cause analysis skills
A safety‑first mindset, with good knowledge of H&S systems and legislation
A desire to develop, contribute, and take ownership in a team striving for operational excellence
