Job summary

Contis in Alfreton, Derbyshire, is seeking a Multi Skilled Electrical bias Maintenance Engineer to join our permanent site team. The role focuses on keeping production equipment running efficiently through a mix of planned and reactive electrical maintenance.

You will fault-find LV systems, PLCs, drives and control panels, support installation and commissioning of new equipment, and work closely with mechanical colleagues on multi-discipline tasks while maintaining logs and complying with safety

Qualifications

• Recognised electrical qualification such as City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, BTEC, ONC/HNC, or apprenticeship.
• Solid maintenance experience in manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of LV electrical systems, motor drives (inverters/VFDs), and control panels.
• PLC fault-finding experience – Siemens S7 or Allen Bradley preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Multi-skilled engineers with mechanical awareness are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown response on production machinery and electrical systems.
• Fault-finding and diagnosing electrical issues across LV systems, PLCs, drives, and control panels.
• Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and process improvements.
• Work collaboratively with mechanical maintenance colleagues on multi-discipline tasks.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and contribute to site improvement projects.
• Work safely at all times in line with site health, safety, and environmental requirements.
